Jonathan Tyler Gomez

I have been obsessed with the idea of escapism for as long as I can remember. Escaping from my surroundings and internal thoughts has been a deep-seated dream of mine. I didn’t grow up very happy with who I was. And I always wanted to escape that feeling and find a world where I could be happy with who I was — who I am. It led me down this path of finding worlds and stories and media that allowed me to escape. But they were always fictional, and I couldn’t physically escape to them. So I bought a vintage film camera in June of 2024, and I took it upon myself to find and capture moments and places that allowed me to escape — that allowed me to experience the small moments of rescue that I have been obsessed with finding for so long.
